How to configure and use the GPRS data channel for the OpenVox G400P4

13 years 9 months ago #5937 by soberg
Hello,

I am attempting to configure and use the GPRS data link capability of this card. However, I have not yet found any specific information yet in these forums or in the user's manual.

Am I going down the right path by enabling HDLC support? e.g.
www.voiptalk.org/products/zaptelhdlc_guide.html
modprobe wct4xxp
Do I need to rebuild zaptel with CONFIG_ZAPATA_NET defined in order to enable HDLC support?

Any specific links or instructions to get me headed in the right direction are appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott

OpenVox gsm modules support the GPRS, but asterisk don't provide this function, and the G400P's driver is opvxg4xx, not wct4xxp.

I have exactly the same question.
So, how do I use G400P cards for connecting via GPRS?
What needs to be configured to get the system online e.g.?

Any hint to examples or howtos would be very appreciated.

Hi,
As Denins said that, OpenVox gsm modules support the GPRS, but asterisk don't provide this function.

Use for example 'chat' and 'pppd' daemon, search for: The Linux GPRS HOWTO Wesley PA4WDH mailto:pa4wdh-at-yahoo-dot-com v0.9, December 2010 . Treat every Sim card as a separate serial port, and don't run asterisk on those spans...
