No dial tone on FXS module connectors

16 years 10 months ago #305 by Dantix
I've installed a new Trixbox 2.2.1, compiled de opvxa1200 module successfully and loaded it with no problems. The card have a led light on by each module installed on the board (FXO and 2 FXS). I've connected a phone to each FXS module's cable tail and I cannot erar the dial tone.
What could be wrong?

Besides, Openvox should give me a dialtone with just load the module driver on OS or the dialtone should be given when asterisk is up and running.?

I have the same situation. One FXS does not give dial tone, whereas the other I have does. Both configured the same.

* All LEDs on the card lights green
* Both showing up fine without errors when Zaptel loads
* Ztcfg reports everything fine
* Asterisk 'zap show channels' says OK
* 'zap show channel XX' says everything is OK
* when I go offhook Asterisk picks it up and starts a simple switch
* When I go onhook asterisk hangs up the channel
* When I call someone they can hear me, but I don't hear them

Once and a while after a full reboot I can hear a vague dial tone which quickly disappears. I suspect the FXS module is broken - can that be so?

What debug data do you wish to see?

the dial tone of fxs port is given by asterisk, not openvox.

you have to registe the channel in to zapata.conf as extension, then asterisk will monitor the pick up event , then play dialtone.
