Crackling noise during calls to analog lines (OpenVox A400P)

17 years 4 days ago #277 by miaolin
Hi,

I wish to thank you for your help, it was actually a problem with the linux kernel.
I reinstalled it without any options and started to install all options one by one. It wasn't smp or xen, but I noticed a change in the sound quality by modifying the timer frequency settings.
I don't exactly know why, but with a basic debian kernel (2.6.18 ) and the timer frequency set at 1000Hz (instead of 250Hz), it works finer.
I also changed the DSL micro filter to improve the quality of the comms.

I'm a bit perplex about all that, but thanks anyway for your help and advice.

Best regards
