G400E and external DC

Hello,

I have question about G400E. I don't have any molex in the server (Dell PE1950) so I must use external DC power supply. Is it safe? Can I use any kind of 12V DC power supply or should it be some specific model? Can I use 12V 3A DC power supply?

External DC power supply should be only connected to DC port in the G400E and it don't need any other connection with server, am I right?

In order to confirm which type of specific model of POWER supply you should use and how to connect it, would you please read our G400E manual here ?

Basically, it needs 0.5A for each GSM module, so you should select the model which is able to support greater than 2A.

Meanwhile, output voltage should be 12V.

Do I need a DC5,5/2,1, or DC5,5/2,5?
