I want to know if is possible to insert A400P PCI card family in a PCI-X slot without any issue ( PCI-X = PCI Extended).

hello,
we do not try that. the length of PCI and PCI-E is totally different.

Hi there,
make sure that the mainboard can do this.
from 133 Mhz and 64 bit to 33Mhz and 32bit.
I know Mainboard that can't do this.
So check the manual from the mainboard and the changelog from the bios, befor do you do this.
I think is not the right question. I think the right question is:
Can my mainboard on the PCI-X bus-system
1. physical match with the A400P card.(pci versions)
2. can my mainboard an setting from the pci-x bus from 32 bit with 33 Mhz.
best regards

Hi,
I've successfully installed and configured this card on Dell Poweredge SC1430 on a PCI-X port without any problem.
The PCI-X port I used is specified by the vendor as follow:
64-bit, 3.3V, 100-MHz PCI-X expansion slot
(as always not much information about the backwards compatibility)
I supposed this PCI-X port in particular is complaint with the standard specification (
www.pcisig.com/news_room/faqs/faq_20/
).
On the downside this server is no longer available.
Thanks to all for your help.
