fxs module forwarding fax questions

13 years 10 months ago #5858 by zhangr
I've setup our opvxa1200p borad to have 3 fxo modules (running fxs_ks signaling) and 1 fxs module (running fxo_ks signaling), and just bridge the fxo channel 3 and fxs channel when it receiving any in-coming call (this line is for fax only, and there's an fax machine connected to the fxs module), my question is:
May I have to disable echo canceller on fxo channel, does echo canceller still available for the fxs channel?
What about the busy detect settings for these special channels?
Any other settings I've to pay attention to?

1. You have to disable the echo canceller for fax, both fxo and fxs modules.
2. let the busy detect to be default value

Yes, I followed your instructions:
chan_dahdi.conf
signalling=fxs_ks
context=fax-incoming
echocancel=no
echocancelwhenbridged=no
channel => 3

signalling=fxo_ks
context=fxs-incoming
callerid=61914365
echocancel=no
echocancelwhenbridged=no
channel => 12
But I got the "comm error 283" on the fax printer, it is an HP LaserJet M1522nf MFP printer.
Then I tried to connect PSTN cable to the printer directly, it works normal. What's wrong should it be?
