Module unresponsive

Dear OpenVox support,

We are trying to install a G400P card on our system. We successfully installed the opvx-bristuff-0.4.0-RC3h package. Our current configuration:

CentOS 5 (kernel 2.6.18-308.1.1.el5)
Asterisk 1.4.26.2-BRIstuffed-0.4.0-RC3h
G400P card with 1 SIM

"dmesg | grep opvx" output:
opvxg4xx: slot 0 is Installed
opvxg4xx: slot 1 is Empty
opvxg4xx: slot 2 is Empty
opvxg4xx: slot 3 is Empty
opvxg4xx: Powering up all spans...

"dmesg | grep OpenVox" output:
Found an OpenVox G400P: Version 1.1

In Asterisk CLI:
gsm show status 1
chan_dahdi.c: GSM 1: cannot request GSM status, module is in use
gsm send sms 1 XXX "test"
chan_dahdi.c: GSM 1: Cannot send SM when in state 25

Long time ago, we had been moving our GSM driver from Bristuff to chan_extra.

Right here: http://www.chan-extra.org/index.php/Main_Page , you will be able to see the details of chan_extra.

The current version is chan-extra-2.0.1 based on DAHDI. We strongly suggest you install chan_extra rather than Bristuff because we developed a lot of new features like stronger SMS feature, muti-platform support, higher versions of Asterisk support etc.

Anyway, think about it.

Thanks. In the end we used Asterisk 1.6.20 and chan-extra 2.0.1 and it all worked as expected.
