G400P - MiniCom access?

12 years 1 month ago #7854 by bulletin
Hi there, is there anyway that we can access the modem modules via MiniCom? I read on a thread here about GPRS support which suggested that the modules could be accessed directly rather than via Asterisk, since Asterisk does not support GPRS.

Any pointers greatly appreciated

Hello Bulletin,

Because the current versions chan_extra we released didn't support this feature, we are debuging this new function at our lab now.

And we will release it very soon. Would you mind waiting some more days? There will be some how-to/ docs release then.

we are adding on a virtual uart to our G400P now, maybe next week can release the solution. at that time , you can use gprs with g400p.

Hi,
I also really need this feature. I'd like to use the card to send/receive SMS messages via Kannel ( http://www.kannel.org/ ). Kannel needs to read/write AT commands from a /dev/ttyXX or similar device on Linux. I have used mobile phones for this purpose but they're not stable enough

Regards,
Darko

Hi Darko,

Hi Darko,
We had released our latest version chan-extra-2.0.2 last week, which supports GPRS connection over our G400P/E.
Please go here to download it.

It has some errors.
I tried to use g4term and see the attachment.
machine just went down with hardware bug (software watchdog didn't help).
