Recovery adfter Firmware upgrade

6 years 5 months ago #11609 by hexus
Hi.
I have an VS-GGU-E2M0400 with 2 cards (8 GSM total)
It was with 2.3.2 firmware onboard and after check i find out that already 2.3.8 released
Via web interface i tied Online Update. But after reboot status shows that only MASTER card updated, slave still 2.3.2. So i've downloaded firmware from downloads.openvox.cn/pub/firmwares/GSM%2...ay/wg400-current.bin (link taken from datail window of Online update). And try to update slave card manually via uploading firmware file. After reboot my slave card have status DISCONECTED.
So can i rollback to factory firmware ??? Reset button seems do nothing.

Hi,

Sorry for the trouble. Please make sure if the SYS led of slave board flashes or not.

If the SYS led is off, i think the file system of slave board is broken. We need an USB-TTL cable to bring it up. Please prepare an USB-TTL cable and follow the manual to flash system firmware:
www.openvox.cn/pub/misc/tools/Flash%20Vo...0USB-TTL%20cable.pdf

It can blink for 1-2 seconds when i hold reset button and powering on, but after release remain off

Where can i get such cable, or maybe flash devise via tftp without cable ? like any other router using openwrt image ??

And another question

1.I found version of *.IMG firmware, other images are *.BIN. Can i use Bin images for flashing my device ?
2. In attached instruction
Notice:
Check “rootmtdblock=/dev/mtdblockX” filed, if it shows “mtdblock6”, then execute “update
second” to flash firmware; if “mtdblock4”, then execute “update first”.

BUT my print says something like
rootmtdblock=/dev/ubiblk0_0
What command should i use for update ?

Thanks .

Hi,

Sorry for the trouble.

1) You can only flash .img firmware.
2) Here are the commands you need if rootmtdblock=/dev/ubiblk0_0 :
setenv ipaddr XXXXX
setenv serverip XXXXX
setenv fsfile wg400-current.img
setenv rootmtdblock /dev/mtdblock4
run updatefirst

mtdparts
nand erase offset size
nand erase 0x00100000 0x00080000
nand erase 0x00180000 0x00080000
reset
