G410E and recent kernels / asterisk versions

Hi Folks,
we currently build Asterisk 1.6 PBX systems with Voismart VGSM cards but are looking to update to something with drivers that are still being supported and that will be able to connect to WCDMA / UMTS networks. Also there are new features in asterisk 1.8 and 11 that we wold like to take advantage of.
The G410E4 looks like a good candidate but the docs only mention supporting Kernels up to 2.6 and asterisk 1.6.

Can anyone here confirm or deny whether the G410E drivers have been updated to use more recent asterisk and kernels? (and if so, what's the latest versions that you have been able to get working?)

Can anyone help here? We're trying to make a purchasing decision and can only wait so long before we're forced to go with the only alternative I've found which is an Elgato card which definitely does support Asterisk 11
